Paul with Grandson Ryland 2022

Special thanks to Jarrod Headley of North Park Studios here in Colorado Springs. Jarrod is a wizard (actually he is the Grand Wizard of Northpark) when it comes to sound technician skills, the best by far I've ever seen in action! He is also an accomplished musician who plays drums, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and midi keyboards. Jarrod also sings harmonies on most of my songs. He has added beautiful musical texture to these songs. I am very grateful for his friendship and help with the production, arrangement, and musicality that I hope you find on my site!

Lyrics for A Parent's Prayer

Sitting in my living room, looking out the window, my heart turns to the past.

Thinking of my children, how they grew so quickly, it seemed to happen so fast.

I saw them on the day they were born … how painfully they cried,

And my eyes also filled with tears, my grateful heart with love and pride.

From the day we’re born – til the day we die – our days are numbered – how they fly.

Like a river – tumbling us along – time carries us like notes in a gospel song.

I see them now through smiling eyes; I see them laughing … I hear their sighs,

I see their hopes and dreams arise – as they discover where their future lies.

I pray they listen carefully for God’s good counsel every day,

I pray He opens their hearts and eyes

And grants them peace and makes them wise.

From the day we’re born – til the day we die – our days are numbered – how they fly.

Like a river – tumbling us along – time carries us like notes in a gospel song.

Like a flash flood catching us by surprise, we lose control, then we realize

They were only ours for a very brief stay, then they’re off to find their own way.
