Paul Trapp, Songwriter

Special thanks to Jarrod Headley of North Park Studios here in Colorado Springs. Jarrod is a wizard (actually he is the Grand Wizard of Northpark) when it comes to sound technician skills, the best by far I've ever seen in action! He is also an accomplished musician who plays drums, acoustic and electric guitar, bass, and midi keyboards. Jarrod also sings harmonies on most of my songs. He has added beautiful musical texture to these songs. I am very grateful for his friendship and help with the production, arrangement, and musicality that I hope you find on my site!

Lyrics for This Blessed Time of Christmas

(Inspired by a sermon of Alistair Begg)

One night on Earth the foretold birth, one day in history.

Creator of the universe, born in mystery.

Shepherds watched as angels sang overwhelmed with joy.

Th’eternal God born mortal man, bells rang in Heaven for the boy!

This blessed time of Christmas … when Messiah brought His light,

He came into a blinded world to offer hope and sight.

Jesus born to live then die alone upon that tree,

The Lamb of God, who paid the price that we might live with Him eternally.

Gabriel spoke to maiden Mary; God had picked this girl.

She’d soon give birth to Jesus, who would come to save the world.

He dwelt among our fallen race, to fulfill His Father’s will.

To offer man His precious grace, He calls His own in love to join Him still.

This blessed time of Christmas … when Messiah brought His light,

He came into a blinded world to offer hope and sight.

Jesus born to live then die alone upon that tree,

The Lamb of God, who paid the price that we might live with Him eternally.

So ring your bells and light your lights to mark this time of joy,

When shepherds watched as angels sang, when bells rang for the boy.

Hang ornaments on Christmas trees and let the warmth of love

Embrace your heart in Heaven’s peace showered by the Father from above.

This blessed time of Christmas … when Messiah brought His light,

He came into a blinded world to offer hope and sight.

Jesus born to live then die alone upon that tree,

The Lamb of God, who paid the price that we might live with Him eternally.

This blessed time of Christmas … when Messiah brought His light,

He came into a blinded world to offer hope and sight.

He came to live with us, then die alone upon that tree,

The Lamb of God, who paid the price that we might live with Him eternally.
